9 CHL Players Named to U.S National Junior Team Preliminary Roster

Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League announced that nine CHL players have been named to the preliminary roster for the 2015 U.S. National Junior Team that will compete in the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship December 26 to January 5 in Montreal and Toronto.

A total of 30 players were chosen by USA Hockey to attend training camp including six players from the Ontario Hockey League, two from the Western Hockey League, and one player from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Goaltenders:

Brandon Halverson (Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds)

Alex Nedeljkovic (Plymouth Whalers)

Defencemen:

Brandon Carlo (Tri-City Americans)

Anthony DeAngelo (Sarnia Sting)

Forwards:

Cole Cassels (Oshawa Generals)

Chase De Leo (Portland Winterhawks)

Adam Erne (Quebec Remparts)

Michael McCarron (London Knights)

Sonny Milano (Plymouth Whalers)

Erne is one of seven camp invitees who was a member of the 2014 U.S. National Junior Team, while Milano and Nedeljkovic are among nine invitees who won gold with Team USA at the 2014 IIHF Under-18 Men's World Championship.

U.S. National Junior Team Selection Camp will take place from December 16-19 in Boston, MA, before moving to Kingston, ON, from December 21-24 with pre-tournament games at the Rogers K-Rock Centre against Germany on December 21 and Sweden on December 23.

The U.S. will be based in Montreal for its preliminary round games and compete in a group with Canada, Finland, Germany, and Slovakia.
