66ers Dance Team to Hold August Auditions for 2009-10

Tulsa, Okla., August 3, 2009 - The Tulsa 66ers will host auditions for the 2009-10 66ers Dance Team on Saturday, August 29. The auditions will be held at the Mabee Gym on the University of Tulsa campus. Many dancers from the NBA Development League, including the 66ers, have parlayed their experience into dance careers in the NBA.
Check-in and registration starts at 10 a.m., with warm-ups and auditions beginning at 10:30. Auditions will last until 1 p.m., as a group of judges from the 66ers front office and celebrity guests will decide who will be on the team.
"I encourage ladies with dance experience, and an interest in sports, to come and audition for our team," 66ers dance team coordinator Amanda Robison said. "The ladies on our squad will play a big role in our team's community outreach efforts, entertain at all of our home games, and possibly have an advantage if they want to try out next year for the Oklahoma City Thunder Girls."
Women 18 and older can audition to be part of the affiliate to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The team will perform at all 24 home games and make appearances throughout the region. To pre-register, please have an application, waiver, photo and registration fee of $10 to the 66ers front office, located at 2727 E. 21st St., Suite 500 in Tulsa by Thursday, Aug. 27, at 5 p.m.
Walk up registration is $15 per person, and will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Registration forms are available at tulsa66ers.com, along with details on the audition process and answers to frequently asked questions.
