Chihuahua, Chih.- The Chihuahua Savage defeated the Dallas Sidekicks 9 goals to 3, thus securing their sixth consecutive victory within the regular season of the Major Arena Soccer League. Forward Erick Tovar stood out for the Savage, scoring two goals and providing an assist to collect 3 offensive points. Due to the 111th anniversary of the Mexican Army, Joel Torres, the president of Club Savage, presented a recognition to Brigadier General Saúl Luna Jaimes, Commander of the V Military Zone, for his military service. Enrique "Kike" Cañez would open the scoring at 4:29 of the first period, followed by Roberto Escalante making it 2-0 after facing the goal directly, closing the first 15 minutes with a partial victory for the home team. In the second quarter, the initiative to attack from the Chihuahua team did not cease, with Ángel "Curry" Castro and Bryan "Flaco" Macias adding two more goals, making it 4-0. However, before halftime, Jamie Lovegrove took advantage of a defensive error to reduce the deficit for the visitors, and Kristian Quintana fired a shot into the top left corner to make it 4-2 at halftime. In the third period, the Texan team exerted pressure, with Renato Torquato narrowing the gap to one goal at 4-3 with a breakaway goal. However, Erick Tovar scored a goal to secure the lead for Chihuahua, followed by Hugo "Roca" Puentes and José "Huevo" López, putting the home team ahead 7-3. In a thoroughly defined match, Erick Tovar once again added another goal to his personal tally, and Adriano Nunes sealed another victory for Chihuahua Savage, ending the match 9-3. With this result, the Chihuahua team is in second place in the Western Conference with a record of 10 games won and 5 lost, accumulating 29 points and nearing securing a spot in the playoffs. Next Sunday, March 3, Chihuahua Savage will visit the San Diego Sockers at the Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California.
