24 Players Assigned to Phantoms by Philadelphia

The Philadelphia Flyers today announced they have reduced their training camp roster down to 32 players and in the process have assigned 24 players to the Adirondack Phantoms, according to general manager Paul Holmgren.

A total of 14 forwards, eight defensemen and two goalies have been assigned to Adirondack. The Phantoms will open their training camp on Monday with their first practice at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

Additionally, the Philadelphia Flyers loaned three players to their junior clubs; Tyrell Goulbourne (Kelowna), Taylor Leier (Portland) and Samuel Morin (Rimouski), and released Todd Orlando from his tryout.

Please note, the players assigned to the Adirondack Phantoms today does not represent the final roster for the team. The Philadelphia Flyers will still need to continue to trim their roster before their regular season opens thus Adirondack can expect a few more players in addition to those listed above. And of the players currently listed on the Phantoms' roster there will be some battling to stay in Glens Falls and secure spots here. Some of the players may be assigned to Adirondack's ECHL affiliate this season in Greenville, S.C.

As alluded to earlier, the Phantoms open training camp on Monday morning with the team's first practice at the Glens Falls Civic Center. It's the first opportunity for fans to check out the team! All practices are free and open to the public. Additionally, the Phantoms are expected to have practice every morning for the rest of the week as well.

The first week of Phantoms Training Camp concludes with back-to-back preseason games next weekend. Adirondack hosts the Albany Devils on Saturday, September 28 at 7:00 at the Glens Falls Civic Center. The Phantoms will play an away game against the Utica Comets on Sunday, September 29 at 4:00.

After that will be another week of training camp with practices in Glens Falls from September 30 through October 4 leading up to the team's regular season opener at the Hershey Bears on Saturday, October 5.
