It's WHL Draft week! The Everett Silvertips will make history, holding the first-overall pick in the WHL Prospects Draft for the first time in franchise history. Here's what you need to know:

U.S. Priority Draft

When: Wednesday, May 8 at 9 a.m. PT

Where: Everett picks 19th- and 41st-overall

What: The U.S. Priority Draft features 2009-born American players from Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. The draft lasts for two rounds.

WHL Prospects Draft

When: Thursday, May 9 at 9 a.m. PT (Pre-show begins at 8:30 a.m. on WHL Live)

Where: Everett holds two first-round selections, including the 1st-overall pick for the first time in club history (via Kamloops) and 19th-overall. The Silvertips hold seven picks within the first five rounds, including 39th, 51st, 64th, 90th and 108th.

What: The WHL Prospects Draft features 2009-born players from Western Canada, as well as leftover American players unselected in the U.S. Priority Draft. Previous first-round selections by the Silvertips include Brek Liske (10th-overall, 2023), Caine Wilke (20th-overall, 2023), Julien Maze (20th-overall, 2022), Tarin Smith (20th-overall, 2021) and Ronan Seeley (20th-overall, 2017).

Did you know... Everett's previous highest WHL Draft pick was the 3rd-overall selection in their expansion season in 2003. They used that pick on future NHL first-round pick Zach Hamill, who accumulated 262 career points in 250 games as a Silvertip.
