May 9, 2022 - Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) News Release

2022 WNBA Opening Weekend Major Stat Milestones:

- Seattle's Sue Bird has now recorded a made three-point shot in 30-straight games, the longest active streak in the WNBA. Arike Ogunbowale (22 games) and Kelsey Mitchell (20 games) own the second and third longest active streaks, respectively.

- Washington Mystics guard Natasha Cloud collected 800 career assists.

- Minnesota Lynx center Sylvia Fowles becomes the 13th player in history to reach 6,000 career points

- First time head coaches Becky Hammon (Las Vegas Aces) and Tanisha Wright (Atlanta Dream) picked up first career wins.

- New York Liberty's fast-starting Sabrina Ionescu did it again, logging a team-high 25 points in New York's season-opening win over Connecticut.

- In her WNBA debut, Atlanta's Rhyne Howard, the No. 1 overall draft pick in 2022, led the Dream in points (16), blocks (4), assists (4), steals (2), and three pointers made (4), as Atlanta notched a road win at Dallas.

- In Sunday's game at the Aces, Seattle's Breanna Stewart recorded her 3,000th career point in her 151st game, tying her with Diana Taurasi and Seimone Augustus as the second-fastest players to reach the 3,000-point plateau. Elena Delle Donne was the fastest at 148 games.

- Los Angeles's Brittney Sykes, who helped the Sparks lead the league in steals last year, totaled nine steals through two games, the most ever by a Sparks player over the first two games of a season.

- For 2-0 Las Vegas, all five starters scored in double-figures in each of their wins over Phoenix and Seattle. A'ja Wilson, the 2020 league MVP, posted two double-doubles. Wilson's 38th and 39th career double-doubles rank third in the franchise's history; she needs three more to surpass the 41 of Margo Dydek and 15 to supplant Natalie Williams (53) atop the list.
