Phoenix Rising FC News Release
The new season is no longer "next year." With just over two months until the club opens the 2022 season, here is a look back at the club's new signings, returning signings, and the players whose options were picked up or were on multi-year deals.
New Singings
So far Phoenix Rising have signed four new players to the club for the 2022 season: defender Baboucarr Njie from Rio Grande Valley FC, midfielders Carlos Aguiano and Marcus Epps from Tacoma Defiance and San Antonio FC, respectively, and forward Richmond Antwi from Ghanaian club Legion Cities.
Returning Signings
Phoenix Rising also brought back three players who were not under contract heading into the 2022 offseason: Joe Farrell, Kevon Lambert, and Santi Moar.
Moar was the club's MVP in 2022 while Lambert and Farrell are the two longest-tenured players on the roster.
Multi-year contracts and options
A total of 12 players on the 2021 roster had either signed multi-year deals keeping them under contract for the 2022 season or had their options picked up by the club.
Niall Dunn, Ivan Gutierrez, Darnell King, Manuel Madrid, Arturo Rodriguez, Aodhan Quinn and Luis Seijas were already under contract.
Joey Calistri, Lalo Delgado, Ryan Flood, Jonathan Levin and James Musa had their options picked up.
