Overview: For the second consecutive season, Emma Cannon joined the Indiana Fever during the middle of the regular season. In 2021, Cannon signed multiple 7-day contracts and ended the season with the Fever. In 2022, Cannon began the season on a replacement contract with the Phoenix Mercury and played in the regular season opener against the Las Vegas Aces, but returned to Indiana as a free agent on June 5. In 24 games played in 2022, Cannon averaged career-highs of 6.8 points and a 52.6 field goal percentage, 3.1 rebounds and started two games. Cannon had the highest scoring season of her career, made more field goals, as well as 3-point field goals, and also recorded the most steals than in any other season in her career. She ended 2022 with eight games scoring in double figures, pushing her career total to 12 games scoring at least 10 points.
Notable Performances:
June 19: Cannon's first double-digit scoring game this season was an 11-point outing in a win against the Chicago Sky.
June 27: In her first game at Phoenix this season, Cannon finished with 12 points and four rebounds.
August 3: On the road at the Atlanta Dream, Cannon tied a season-high 16 points and began a three-game stretch with eight rebounds.
August 12: In the final regular season home game, Cannon earned a starting nod and tied season-highs with 16 points, eight rebounds and three steals against the Washington Mystics.
August 14: To close the regular season out at Washington, Cannon started once again and finished with 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting and three rebounds.
