ROSEMONT, Ill. - Chicago Bandits GM Aaron Moore announced the re-signing of catcher Mariesha Marker and 2010 Rookie of the Year, pitcher Nikki Nemitz.

Marker and Nemitz have agreed go contracts through the 2011 season.

"Anytime you can re-sign a pitcher like Nemitz, it ‚¬â„¢s great for your team," said Moore. "She played a big part last season and we ‚¬â„¢re expecting her to perform at the same level this year."

A first round draft pick in the 2010 NPF Senior Draft, Nemitz enjoyed a stand out rookie season, and was named to the 2010 NPF Rookie Team. She finished the season with seven wins, 14 strikeouts, and a 2.18 ERA. photo by Dina T. Kwit Marker joined the Bandits as a free agent during the 2010 season. In 20 at-bats she had three hits and a .150 batting average with five runs scored.

"Marker is going to have a bigger role as a catcher this season," said Moore. "We ‚¬â„¢re going to carry two catchers so she should see a lot more time behind the plate this year and in the batter ‚¬â„¢s box."
