2007 American Association Postseason All-Star Team Announced

DURHAM, NC - The American Association of Independent Professional Baseball today announced its 2007 Post-Season All-Star Team as voted upon by the ten league field managers and media representatives. The 12-member team was led by the El Paso Diablos, who had three players named to the team. The Lincoln Saltdogs, Sioux Falls Canaries and Fort Worth Cats had two selections.

CATCHER

Marcel Longmire, St. Paul Saints - Hit .324 (10th) with 15 HR (T-1st), 76 RBI (2nd) and 114 hits.

1ST BASE

Walter Olmstead, El Paso Diablos - Hit .337 (7th) with 120 hits (3rd), 76 runs scored (1st), eight triples (1st), .565 slugging percentage (1st) and 16 stolen bases.

2ND BASE

Josh Patton, Lincoln Saltdogs - Hit .344 (5th) with 104 hits, 23 doubles and .426 on-base percentage (3rd).

3RD BASE

Trino Aguilar, Pensacola Pelicans - Hit .287 with 14 HR (T-3rd), 100 hits and 23 stolen bases.

SHORTSTOP

Albenis Machado, El Paso Diablos - Hit .317 with 108 hits, 27 stolen bases, 70 runs scored (T-5th) and a .428 on-base percentage (1st).

OUTFIELD

Brian Fryer, Coastal Bend Aviators/Fort Worth Cats - Hit .306 with 106 hits, 61 runs scored and 34 stolen bases (3rd).

OUTFIELD

Jorge Moreno, Sioux City Explorers - Hit .297 with 14 HR (T-3rd), 108 hits, 43 extra base hits (3rd) and 75 runs scored (T-2nd).

OUTFIELD

Seth Pietsch, Lincoln Saltdogs - Hit .347 (4th) with 123 hits (2nd), 28 doubles (T-5th), 23 stolen bases and a .514 slugging percentage.

DESIGNATED HITTER

Jorge Alvarez, El Paso Diablos - Hit .358 (3rd) with 144 hits (1st), 43 doubles (1st), 88 RBI (1st), 52 extra base hits (1st) and a .530 slugging percentage (4th).

LHP

Joel Kirsten, Fort Worth Cats - 6-5 record with a 3.32 ERA (8th), 21 walks in 116 2/3 innings pitched and three complete games.

RHP

Pat Mahomes, Sioux Falls Canaries - 12-3 record (1st in wins) with a 3.21 ERA (5th), 109 strikeouts (2nd) in 134 2/3 innings pitched (2nd) and four complete games (T-2nd).

RELIEF PITCHER

Jerrod Fuell, Sioux Falls Canaries - 1-1 record with 23 saves (1st) and 33 strikeouts in 30 innings pitched.
