The future stars of the Ontario Hockey League will be unveiled this Saturday (May 6th) during the 2006 OHL Priority Selection being held via the Internet and conference call in all 20-member team locations.
The Erie Otters own the fourth overall selection in the 15-round event that gets underway at 9 a.m. In addition to their first-round choice, the Otters own two third-round picks (44th and 45th overall) as well as two picks in the fifth and sixth rounds. In total, the Otters are scheduled to make 16 selections in the annual event.
The Sarnia Sting will select first overall followed by the Oshawa Generals and Mississauga IceDogs.

Otters Priority Selection Quick Facts:
- The Otters have selected a total of 163 players in the 10 Priority Selections from 1996-2005
- Five out of the Otters 10 first round OHL Priority Selection picks in franchise history have gone on to be selected in the first three rounds of the National Hockey League Entry Draft including three first round selections (Tim Connolly, fifth overall by the New York Islanders in 1999; Brad Boyes, 24th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2000 and Ryan O'Marra, 15th overall by the Islanders in 2005)
- The Otters 16 picks in the 2006 OHL Priority Selection matches the most they have owned since the event was capped at 15 rounds in 2001. The Otters also had 16 choices in 2001 and 2004
- The Otters have never selected higher than fourth in the OHL Priority Selection. The last time they held the fourth spot (in 2003) they selected current captain Ryan O'Marra
- 32.4% of the players selected by the Otters that have graduated from the junior ranks (players taken in Priority Selections from 1996-2001) have gone on to play professional hockey, including eight who played in the National Hockey League in 2005-2006
2006-2007 Erie Otters Season Tickets are now on sale. Reserve your seats now and save big over the Box Office price. Platinum level tickets are $376.74; Gold level tickets are $328.61 and a Child (12 and under) Season Ticket in any seating level is $230.48. All prices do not include the City of Erie Entertainment Tax or fees. There are additional savings for Erie Youth Hockey Association and Erie Lady Lions members.
Single game tickets for the 2006-2007 OHL Season will go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, August 30th at all Erie-area TicketMaster locations as well as the Civic Center Box Office. Platinum tickets are $13.50, Gold Tickets are $11.50 and Children (12 and under) are $9.50 in any seating area. All single game ticket prices include the City of Erie Entertainment Tax.
