Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release
The announcement of the 2006 Cedar Rapids Kernels Field Staff was supposed to be made by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on Thursday, but this announcement has been indefinitely delayed due to last-minute personnel changes. This message was relayed by the Angels' Public Relations Office via a voice message on Wednesday.
The changes are not expected to affect Cedar Rapids and it's expected that Bobby Magallanes will return for his third season as manager of the Kernels. It is also expected that Kernan Ronan will return as pitching coach and Eric Munson will return as trainer.
Kernels hitting coach Justin Baughman will not return as he accepted the head baseball coaching position at Lewis & Clark College in Oregon. Baughman played for Lewis & Clark from 1993 until 1995.
The Kernels Office will be closed December 26th for Christmas. Any announcements from the Angels regarding minor league field staffs will be released during the week as needed.
