
2005 MISL Champion Milwaukee Wave combines roster with Wave United

MILWAUKEE (September 7, 2005) - MLS powerhouse the Chicago Fire is traveling to Milwaukee's Uihlein Soccer Park to play a special exhibition match to end the Wave United season on Saturday, September 10 at 7 p.m. This match combines the rosters of the Wave United, whose record thus far in the 2005 Festival Soccer Tour is 6-1-2, with the Milwaukee Wave, the 2005 Major Indoor Soccer League Champions.
The Milwaukee Wave United last met the Chicago Fire in the Fourth Round of the 2003 U.S. Open Cup. The Fire took the match 4-1 at Uihlein Soccer Park to advance to the Quarterfinals. Chicago went on to win the 2003 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, 1-0, versus MLS rival the New York/New Jersey MetroStars. Wave United, in its inaugural season, then went on to lead the A-League in scoring and win the 2003 Regular Season Championship.
