Monday, July 19th - Bakersfield Blitz mascot Crusher and the Blitz Football Toss will be at the Little Red Schoolhouse, California Avenue location beginning at 9:30am. The Little Red Schoolhouse is located at 4601 California Avenue in Bakersfield.
Tuesday, July 20th - The 2004 Condors Care-a-Van jumps on Hwy 58 and heads up to Tehachapi for a in-line hockey clinic from 4:00pm - 6:00pm. Condors Assistant Head Coach Paul Willett will be heading up two separate hour-long clinics. The first will be for children 12 and under with the second covering those kids over 12. Goodwill Industries of Kern County will accompany the Care-a-Van. Fans are encouraged to bring donations to the clinic in return for a voucher for a terrace level ticket to the 2004-05 Condors Opening Night game against the expansion Victoria Salmon Kings on Friday, October 22, 2004. The clinic will be held at Jacobson Jr. High School located at 126 Snyder Road in Tehachapi.
Wednesday, July 21st - A special guest, Bakersfield Blitz FB/LB Nick Onaindia, joins Paul Willett and the Condors Care-a-Van as it spends its second day on Hwy 58 and heads to Ridgecrest. The day starts with a visit to Goodwill Industries store to collect donations from 10:30am - 11:30am. Goodwill Industries is located at 880 N. China Lake Blvd. Following Goodwill, the Care-a-Van meets up with Houchin Blood Bank at the Kerr Magee Community Center until 12:45pm. Kerr Magee Community Center is located at 100 California Avenue in Ridgecrest. The Care-a-Van's final stop of the day is at the High Desert Forum's In-line Hockey Association for a two hour hockey clinic. Onaindia will be joining Willett as they both run the kids through the proper shooting and skating techniques. The clinic is free and open to children of all ages. The High Desert Forum is located at the Desert Empire Fair, Joshua Hall, 520 S. Richmond Avenue in Ridgecrest. At each stop you can make a donation to Goodwill Industries and receive a voucher good for one ticket to Opening Night - October 22, 2004 against the Victoria Salmon Kings.
Thursday, July 22nd - Blitz mascot Crusher and select Blitz players will be at the Southwest Library for the Kern County Library, KGET-TV 17, and the Bakersfield Blitz "Wild About Reading" Storytime beginning at 10:30am. Southwest Library is located at 8301 Ming Avenue in Bakersfield. For more information on the "Wild About Reading" program and how kids can earn free tickets to see the Bakersfield Blitz contact the Kern County Library at 868-0750 or log on to www.kerncountylibrary.org to sign up for the program.
Thursday, July 22nd - Come on down to the Holiday Inn Select for the Indoor War Report as the "Voice of the Blitz" Kevin Bartl is joined by Blitz Head Coach Rick Van Horne, and select Blitz players from 6:00pm - 7:00pm. The IWR is a great chance for fans to meet their favorite members of the 2004 Blitz as well as win great prizes. The Holiday Inn Select is located at the corner of Truxtun Avenue and Q Street. The show can also be heard live each week on KGEO AM 1230.
