Cincinnati - 1790 Cincinnati is pleased to announce they have signed Craig Rhodis as a player and Head Coach for the 2008-09 season. Craig is an 11 year veteran in professional soccer. During that time, Craig has played with the Cincinnati Silverbacks (NPSL), Cincinnat Cheetahs (USL), Cincinnati Riverhawks (A League), Lafayette Swampcats (EISL), and was a player/coach with the Lafayette Lightning (USL). Craig also played with the Portland Pythons (WISL) and Utah Freezz (WISL). During that time, Craig won three championships, was a five-time All-League player, two-time Defender of the Year, and one-time MVP.

Recently, Craig served as a player/coach for the Cincinnati Excite for the last two years and was twice named to the All-AISL teams.

"We were looking for someone who can teach our younger players, as well as take our veterans to a higher level. There is no better fit for us than Craig Rhodis," said Steve Wood, General Manager for 1790.

"Craig is soccer in the Cincinnati area," said Dave Bavis, Operations Manager for 1790. "He has an eye for talent, has the ability to build a team, and the fact that he is still a great player is an added bonus."

Rhodis will bring back a core group of players that he coached with the Excite and is preparing the 1790 roster for their November 9 season opener in which they host the Texas Outlaws at Game Time Training Center.
