
10th annual P-Rays Home Run Derby on July 9

The Princeton Devil Rays and STAR 95 Radio will conduct their tenth annual "Home Run Derby" at Hunnicutt Field in Princeton, WV on Saturday, July 9. The purpose of the contest is to determine who the best home run hitters are in 13 different age categories and trophies will be awarded to the top two finishers in each of these categories while commemorative certificates will be awarded to third and fourth place in each category.
Winners are determined by who can hit the most "home runs" in a round of seven swings. The entry fee is $5.00 per round and participants may enter as many times as they wish to achieve their best round. Distances are pro-rated with each corresponding age group. All participants will hit off of a pitching machine.
There will be two sessions in which the following age groups will hit:
July 9 (2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.): tee ball (age 6 & under), age 7-9 boys, age 10-12 boys, age 7-12 girls, age 13-19 girls, and women age 20 & over.
July 9 (7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.): age 13-16 boys, age 17-20 boys, age 21-30 men, age 31-39 men, age 40-49 men, and men age 50 & over.
Admission is free and concession items will be available for purchase. Bats and batting helmets will be provided upon request.
