Estero, FL- The Florida Firecats 48-47 OT win against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton was enough to give them the best record in the af2, but apparently not enough to propel the team to the top spot in this week' coaches poll.
The defending ArenaCup Champion Florida Firecats received 210 points and seven first place tallies, but the Memphis Xplorers 221-point total included twelve first-place votes in securing them the No.1 ranking. The Manchester Wolves fell to the No.3 spot with 194 points after five consecutive weeks in the No.1 spot.
The arenafootball2 Week 17 schedule features four match ups of Top 10 teams. The No.2 ranked and defending ArenaCup Champion Florida Firecats head to the heated tundra of the Resch Center to challenge the No.9 Green Bay Blizzard on Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. while the No.3 Manchester Wolves look to regain their footing in Kentucky against the No.6 ranked Louisville Fire. Also on Saturday night at 8:00 the No.4 Tulsa Talons play host to the No.9 ranked Amarillo Dusters. At 8:30 the No.5 Rio Grande Valley welcome the No.7 ranked Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz to the Dodge Arena.

The âCats will travel to Birmingham nextt week where they will look to end the regular season with a complete sweep of the South Division, Florida is 7-0 against the rest of the division this year.
