Augusta GreenJackets News Release
Augusta, GA-With one out, a runner on second, and the game tied at one in the top of the tenth, Mitch Roman hit an RBI double to put the Kannapolis Intimidators on top of the Augusta GreenJackets 2-1. Mike Morrison came on in relief to set the GreenJackets down in order in the bottom of the inning as the GreenJackets fell in game one of the series at Lake Olmstead Stadium Wednesday night.
The GreenJackets led 1-0 going into the top of the sixth. Jameson Fisher led off the inning with a triple for the Intimidators. Micker Adolfo followed with a ground ball to third to score Fisher and tie the game at one. He advanced to second when GreenJackets third basemen Kevin Rivera overthrew catcher Will Albertson trying to get Fisher out at the plate.
Each starting pitcher was lights out in seven innings of work. D.J. Myers gave up only one run off of five hits, no earned runs, and struck out six for the GreenJackets. For the Intimidators, Yosmer Solorzano also gave up only one run. He allowed seven hits and struck out seven.

For Augusta, Nolan Riggs was able to match Kubat, pitching a scoreless eighth and ninth and also giving up only one hit. He came on to pitch the tenth and ran into trouble when he walked Max Dutto to lead off the inning. Dutto advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Joel Booker setting up the winning hit by Roman.
