Benson Signed by New York Mets

March 12, 2026 - EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Evansville Otters are excited to announce that former Otter J.T. Benson has been signed by the New York Mets. Benson, a native of Louisville, KY, signed with the Otters during Opening Weekend last season. In his sophomore professional season, he played 80 games for Evansville, hitting for a team second-best .295 batting average, with 84 hits, 20 doubles, a triple and 10 home runs. Otters Set to Host Otterbelle Tryouts March 21

March 10, 2026 - EVANSVILLE, Ind. - For years, the Evansville Otterbelles have served as the team's official promotions and dance team - now it's your chance to join them and become a part of the Bosse Field gameday atmosphere. The Evansville Otters are holding their 2026 Otterbelle Tryouts on Saturday, March 21 from 10a-Noon. Tryouts are open to all but you must be 15+ years old to be a member of the Otterbelles. McCarthy Signed by Detroit Tigers

February 25, 2026 - EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Evansville Otters are excited to announce the signing of outfielder Nolan McCarthy by the Detroit Tigers. McCarthy, a native of Kalamazoo, MI, was officially acquired by the Otters on Nov. 5, 2025, completing a prior trade with the Ottawa Titans. He was expected to make his Otters debut at Spring Training in late April.
