Hoffman Estates, IL- The Windy City Bulls (2-3), presented by BMO Harris Bank, the official NBA Development League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, outscored the Oklahoma City Blue by 16 points in the second half en route to a 88-79 victory Friday night at the Sears Centre Arena. The win snaps a three game losing streak for the Bulls while the Blue drop to 5-2 on the season.
Forward J.J. Avila and guard Spencer Dinwiddie each turned in double-doubles for the Bulls with Avila scoring 20 points to go with 12 rebounds and Dinwiddie finishing with 18 points and 10 assists.
Guard Aaron Thomas added 14 points to round out the double figure scoring performers for the Bulls while Alfonzo McKinnie came off the bench to score eight points and collect 10 rebounds.
Oklahoma City had four players score in double figures, led by Jannero Pargo, who came off the bench to score 20 points. Reggie Williams added 16 points for the Blue.
After Leading 19-16 at the conclusion of the first quarter, Windy City was outscored 27-17 in the second frame and trailed 43-36 at halftime.
The Bulls used a strong third quarter to outscore the Blue by nine points and lead 58-56 entering the fourth quarter.
Back-to-back buckets by Thomas Walkup and McKinnie with 7:51 remaining in the game gave Windy City the first double-digit lead of the evening, 67-57 and it would grow to 12 on a layup by Thomas in the following possession.
The Blue cut the lead to 79-74 on a layup by Williams with 1:33 remaining, but the Bulls would hold on down the stretch for the victory.
The Bulls return to action Saturday night at the Sears Centre Arena for the second game in as many nights as the Delaware 87ers visit for a 7 PM tip-off on 'Video Game Night". Fans will be able to play their favorite arcade games from yesteryear and today while also watching NBA 2K17 gameplay on the video board during pre-game and halftime.
