The Alaska Wild is looking for a few good men-¦and women. The 2010 team tryouts take place Sunday, January 24th 5pm at the Sullivan Arena. Head coach Darnell Lee and staff will be on hand to assess local men for their skills and talent. Registration is $50 and the first 40 entrants will receive an Alaska Wild t-shirt.
The promotional department is looking for the 2010 Ball Babes who play a vital role in the Alaska Wild games throughout the year. The team assists in all game day promotions, primarily engaging with the fans. 2010 marks the second season that the Ball Babes will be a part of the Alaska Wild family. Tryouts will be held Sunday, January 24th from 3:30-4:30pm. Contestants will be challenged on physical aspects of the job. There is no charge for the tryouts.
The annual "AK Wild Idol-Â caps off the festivities Tuesday, January 26th 6pm at the Sullivan Arena. The search will be on for the person or groups that can sing the National Anthem at a home game. Only three spots remain and registration is free.
All interested parties can contact Veronica Toomer, asst. General Manager at 771-9400 for registration forms. Walk-ons are also welcome.
The Alaska Wild is Alaska's first professional football team. Founded four years ago, the AK Wild is a member of the indoor football league, a national league featuring 28 teams. They are led by head coach Darnell Lee, a three time league championship coach.
