Huntsville Havoc News Release

HUNTSVILLE, AL - Huntsville Havoc head coach, Glenn Detulleo, announced today that defenseman Stuart Stefan will be returning for his sixth season with the team.

"We are excited to announce the return of Stuart for his sixth season with us," Detulleo said. "He is not only an elite defenseman in this league on the ice, but he's a great example for our players off the ice as well. He competes and makes an impact for us in all three zones and will, once again, play an important role in the 2016-17 season."

Stefan has played in 267 career games, all with the Havoc. He has scored 58 goals and recorded 114 assists. The Delhi, Ontario native was named All-SPHL Second Team this past season after scoring six goals and recording 23 assists. He was an All-SPHL Second Team selection for the 2014-15 season and the Defenseman of the Year and All-SPHL First Team selection during the 2013-14 season.

"I'm just excited to be back with the Havoc," Stefan said. "Obviously I love playing here, after being here for five seasons. It's a great place to play and I'm ready to get going again. We had a young team last year, and a lot of those guys played really well, and I know a lot of them want to come back, so it should be an easy transition from last season."

Stefan currently ranks second in the Havoc record book in games played with 267, tied for fifth in goals scored with 58, fourth in assists with 114 and fourth in points with 172.

The Havoc will open the 2016-17 season on the road in Peoria on October 21st. The home opener is set for Saturday, October 29th at 7:00 p.m. on Pharmacy First Ice against the Knoxville Ice Bears.
