Veteran Linemen Re-Signs With Steelhawks
Allentown, PA : The Lehigh Valley Steelhawks are excited to announce that a key member of one of the best offensive lines in the National Arena League will be return to the Valley for the 2018 season. Offensive Lineman/Center Shawn Lockett (6'1, 345, American International) returns for this third season with the Black and Vegas Gold.
Lockett was the center piece of an O-Line that was a part of the league's leading scoring offense in 2017. That line also kept the league's MVP Quarterback protected, allowing only 13 sacks. Lockett will bring experience to a young group of linemen coming into camp.
First year Head Coach Bob Kohler adds, "The Steelhawks are thrilled to have Shawn Lockett returning to the Nest for the 2018 season. Shawn brings a wealth of talent and experience to our team. His leadership this season will be crucial in assisting with getting our rookies up to speed. Shawn is a true professional in the way he conducts himself on and off the field, and is a great asset to the 2018 Steelhawk organization."
The Steelhawks also add another formidable lineman in Michael Williams Jr. (6'5 315, Jacksonville University/Villanova). Williams Jr. has experience playing on both sides of the ball. He played two years at Villanova before finishing his career at Jacksonville University where he started all eleven games his senior year.
