
RGV Vipers Fends off Los Angeles D-Fenders for the Home Win

Hidalgo, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers(5-2) defeat the Los Angeles D-Fenders (5-2) 116-115. The Rio Grande Valley Vipers scored 37 points in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
Le'Bryan Nash and JP Tokoto led the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in points. Both players scored 18 on the night. JP, who collected nine rebounds, was one rebound away from collecting a double-double. Darius Morris had his own double-double with12 points and 10 assists.
Josh Magette started off strong for the Los Angeles D-Fenders. Magette had 8 points and helped the away team finish off the first quarter on top of the Vipers by the score of 28-30. Le'Bryan Nash and Jarvis Threatt scored seven points each on the second quarter that propelled the Vipers to 56-55 lead in the first half. Threatt went five-for-five from the free throw line in the second quarter.
The D-Fenders took the lead from the Vipers in the third quarter and finished with a three-point lead, 82-79. Travis Wear had seven points in the third quarter. The Rio Grande Valley Vipers scored 37 points in the fourth to secure the win. Gary Payton II, Darius Morris, and Julien Lewis had a strong performance in the last quarter of the game. Los Angeles D-Fenders had an opportunity to steal the win from the RGV Vipers in the final seconds of the game, but Troy Devries's shot missed as time expired.
Josh Magette was Los Angeles' leading scorer with 20 points and also collected nine assists. Justin harper had 14 rebounds for the D-Fenders.
The RGV Vipers travel to face Reno BigHorns on Thursday, December 1st and won't be back until Monday, December 5 when they face Salt Lake City Stars.
