
RGV Vipers Defeat OKC Blue to Reach Finals

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers, NBA D-League affiliate of the Houston Rockets, will be going to their fourth NBA D-League Finals after defeating OKC Blue 114-102 .
Kyle Wiltjer scored 28 points on the night and had 12 rebounds. Chris Johnson also collected a double-double with 12 rebounds and 12 points. OKC's Dakari Johnson led both teams in scoring with 31 points.
The first quarter was back and forth between both teams and included a total of five lead changes. Kyle Wiltjer reached double digits in scoring in the opening quarter with 11 points. The Blue held a small 26-28 lead over the Vipers entering the second quarter.
The Vipers offense took charge in the second quarter and outscored OKC 34-28 to finish the half with a 60-56 lead.
OKC Blue found their way back into the game in the third quarter. They were able to steal the lead from the Vipers. With 2:44 left in the game, OKC's Daniel Hamilton's driving lay up shot gave the home team the lead again. Isaiah Taylor scored both of his free throws with 4 seconds left to cut the deficit to just one point as the third quarter ended.
Once the Rio Grande Valley Vipers stole the lead, they would not let go of it. A 10-0 run would help the Vipers extend their lead, as they became the Western Conference Champions.
The Rio Grande Valley Vipers will now play a best of three series against Raptors 905 in the NBA D-League Finals.
