The River City Rage are pleased to announce that they have added both the Offensive Player of the Year with Running Back Vincent Webb out of Eastern Illinois, and also Defensive Player of the Year, Linebacker Donald Thomas. Both players played their collegiate ball at Eastern Illinois and were All Americans for the Panthers.

Webb (5'11 210lbs), a 1st team All-OVC performer (3 times), and Offensive player of the year for the Ohio Valley Conference will suit up for his first season with the rage in 2009. Webb rushed for over 4200 yards for the Panthers, including a 1400 yard effort his SR season and was the 4th player in EIU history to earn OVC Player of the Year honors, the previous winner Tony Romo won it 3 times (2000-2002). "What I like with Vincent is that not only will he hit the hole, and run North and South, but he has great hands out of the backfield," said Head Coach Rik Richards.

Thomas' (5'10 240lbs) was a 3 year starter at Eastern Illinois and the OVC Player of the Year/All American in 2006. In 2007 had 91 TT, 5.5 TFL, and another 1st team All-OVC selection even though he had some minor injuries to keep him out of action in a couple games. With over 320 tackles in his career Thomas is a sure tackler, and brings good speed to the Rage defense (4.54) and also was a team captain in his time at Eastern Illinois. Head Coach Rik Richards had this to say, "I look forward to see what Donald can bring to the 2009 version of the River City Rage, and I think his football skills and big game experience and leadership will help us in a lot of games."
