Nebraska Danger News Release
GRAND ISLAND, NE - Welcome back Quincy Walden.
After being activated from the IR back on March 12th, Walden saw his first game action of the 2019 season this past weekend against Bismarck, and he didn't take long to make his presence felt. He didn't need a lot of touches to do it, either.
In fact, Walden only touched the ball during five plays all game, with two of those being kick returns. However, the dual-threat star turned two of those touches into touchdowns in the 50-35 win over the Bucks this past Saturday.
Walden electrified the crowd with a 30-yard TD run to open the scoring of the game during the first quarter to put the Danger up 7-0. He then stayed pretty quiet until there was just 2:29 left in the third quarter. The Danger led 26-23 and were receiving a kickoff.
Walden grabbed it right at the Danger goal line and took off, rumbling all 50 yards of the field for the first kickoff return for a TD the Danger in 2019. It put the Danger up 33-23 and in control after a slow-going first half. He also pulled in once reception for 12 yards in the win.
Now, the Danger return home fresh off their first win since beating Bismarck during the team's season-opener back in February. Nebraska now has a home game against a Tucson Sugar Skulls team that sits at 3-1 on the year, with its only loss coming to the undefeated Arizona Rattlers.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 6 inside the Heartland Events Center!
