Morays turn to fans for new offensive plays
May 4, 2005 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
Miami Morays News Release
MIAMI, FL â Morays' offensive coordinator Tony Wells is looking for a few more good plays, and he is turning to the Morays fans to provide him with just what he needs.
For the upcoming home game against the New Jersey Xtreme on May 15th, and continuing for all games at the Miami Arena, the Morays will be accepting and reviewing custom designed plays sent in from Moray fans.
"Every time I go to a football game, I always hear the fans saying they should be the ones making the plays," Tony Wells said, remembering when he used to do the same thing at games. "Well now this is the perfect opportunity for those same fans to see their play-making ideas put to the test. They better not let us down."
Fans can draw up their plays and fax them to the Morays office at 305-374-8952 on the Mondays before the next home game. To comply with NIFL rules, three linemen and one receiver must be on the line of scrimmage before the snap, and up to three players may be in motion before the snap.
If the play is chosen by Coach Wells and used for positive yardage in the game, the play designer will win a prize to be determined from the Morays merchandise store.
To be eligible for this contest, faxed-in plays must also include the sender's name, address, and phone number. In addition, only one play will be accepted per household. Sending more than one will result in disqualification.
"I fully expect to get some crazy back-yard plays, but if one of our fans draws up a really creative play, I fully intend to try to incorporate it into my offensive playbook."
The Miami Morays next hone game is on May 15th at 3:05 PM on Ford Allen Field at the Miami Arena against the New Jersey Xtreme. Tickets are available at the Miami Arena Box Office or through Ticketmaster. For additional information about the Miami Morays, please visit us at www.miamimoraysfootball.com.
