Independence, Missouri - The Missouri Mavericks announced Thursday the Central Hockey League (CHL) team has re-signed forward Trevor Kell and utility forward Kyle Hood for the 2013-14 season. The Mavericks are currently at eight players signed to their pre-season roster.

Last season, Kell, 27 (6/23/86), was assigned to the Mavericks by their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, Chicago Wolves, and tallied 34 points (10-24=34) in 39 games with the Mavericks. Prior to last season, Kell spent the 2011-12 campaign with Fassa of Italy's Serie A where he ranked first on the team with 25 assists and third with 36 points and 11 goals in 45 games played. The Thunder Bay, Ontario native split the 2010-11 season between the AHL's Albany Devils and ECHL's Trenton Devils. He has also amassed 66 goals, 89 assists and 155 points in 207 career ECHL games with Trenton over the course of four seasons (2007-11).

"Trevor and Kyle bring us grit and skill at the center ice position. Both have the ability to be big point producers in the roles they will fill this season," Hillman said. "Trevor is a tremendous skater, dangerous on the rush and is one of the hardest hitters in the league. Kyle has great hands and vision around the net and is a player that loves to go to the tough areas on the ice to make plays."

Last season, the Mavericks acquired Hood, 29 (5/28/84), in a trade from Arizona Sundogs. In his first season with the Mavericks, Hood finished with 11 points (2-9=11) in 37 games.
