OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, (Apr. 1, 2017) - The Texas Legends (25-25) finished their season with a 96-115 loss to the Oklahoma City Blue (34-16) Saturday night in Oklahoma. The Blue clinched the top seed in the West but Texas also ended on a landmark with the most wins in a season in franchise history behind first year head coach Bob MacKinnon.
The home team grabbed their ultimate lead in the first and built a 12-point advantage by half. The Blue went up by as many as 26 behind 51% shooting and 13 long distance makes. Texas struggled from outside, hitting 28% and lagging on the boards 39-46.
Rookie Jameel Warney led the Legends with 22 points, 4 rebounds while Ben Gordon finished with 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals. Stephane Lasme grabbed 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks, and Andre Dawkins tied the team-high 6 boards while adding 11 points, 2 steals off the bench. Warney finished the season with a team-high 15 double-doubles and a 57.6% completion rate.
The Blue's starting five all finished in double-digits led by Josh Huestis with 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists. Dakari Johnson added 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists and Reggie Williams went 3-of-4 outside for 21 points, 4 rebounds.
