Legends Wrap up Road Trip with Win over Suns

PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ-The Texas Legends (25-22) ended a six-game road trip with a 107-101 win over the Northern Arizona Suns (21-25) Thursday night.

Northern Arizona grabbed the first lead and maintained a one-possession advantage through the first five minutes. With a three-pointer from Jackson, Texas grabbed a short-lived edge and the back-and-forth nudges began. The Legends found themselves up five going into the second and would carry the lead for the next six minutes. By the half, the two teams had exchanged leads 13 times and tied six but Texas remained ahead by four.

The largest lead came from Texas (+8) as the game stayed close. The home team continued to nip at the Legends' heels but Texas refused to give up control, closing out the game and taking the season series three games to one.

The Suns converted 46% to Texas' 42% overall, but the Legends gained an advantage outside shooting 31% to Arizona's 24%. The home team also dominated the boards 48-40, but Texas grabbed 16 second-chance points to the Suns' 6.

Jameel Warney led all with 23 points, 15 rebounds for his 13th double-double of the season while also tallying 4 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. Pierre Jackson added 22 points, 8 assists, and Stephane Lasme followed with 21 points, 8 rebounds. Ben Gordon (15), CJ Williams (12), and Andre Dawkins (10) rounded off the Legends' double-digit scores.

Xavier Silas led the scoring efforts for the Suns with 18 points while Derek Cooke Jr. grabbed 10 boards. Elijah Millsap finished with 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists, and Josh Gray went 3-of-4 from beyond the arc to add 15 points off the bench.
