Legends Hold Strong in Windy City

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL, (Nov. 19, 2016)- The Texas Legends (1-1) hit the road for their first away game of the 2016-17 season against brand new Chicago affiliate, the Windy City Bulls (1-2). Despite a strong fourth quarter push from the Bulls, the Legends clinched the contest 108-98.

Texas got off to a hot start taking a 7-0 lead before the Bulls made the board. Aaron Thomas got the scoring started for Windy City and Spencer Dinwiddie added 7 points as the home team built a 22-21 advantage. Texas was ice cold from outside, going 1-of-11 in the first, but Manny Harris accounted for 11 of the team's 21 points to keep the contest close. Harris continued his strike before the half completing an 18-point performance as the Legends took over 52-46 going into the break.

Texas' defensive attack smothered Windy City in the third, holding the Bulls to 20 points. The Legends pulled away by 20 in the fourth before the Bulls forged a rally in the final minutes. With just over a minute to play, Texas' lead was cut to seven, but the gap proved too much as the visitors left with the victory.

The Legends won the turnover battle 13-21 but left 14 points on the free throw line where they shot 59% on the night. Harris posted 22 points, 7 rebounds, while Jameel Warney added the team's first double-double of 16 points, 13 rebounds. Kyle Collinsworth dished out 7 assists also adding 5 points, 10 boards, and 3 steals, and CJ Williams finished with 18 points, 2 blocks.

Windy City was led by Thomas who posted a game-high 30 points while Alfonzo McKinney came off the bench for 13 points, 14 rebounds.
