Lake County Captains Announce Giveaways and Theme Jerseys for 2016

(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains, the Class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, have numerous exciting giveaways in store for fans this season. The initial list of giveaways include a knit beanie, athletic socks, Dri-fit T-Shirt, Military Card Set, President James A. Garfield bobblehead, "A Captains Story" bobblehead, magnet schedules and the popular Youth Jersey by Stanley Steemer. In addition to great giveaways, the Captains will wear special, themed jerseys during four home games.

The giveaways begin on Opening Night, Thursday, April 7. The first 1,500 fans through the gates will receive a Captains Knit Beanie, presented by Lake Health. In addition, all fans attending the game on Opening Night and on Friday, April 8 will receive Captains 2016 magnet schedules compliments of Wickliffe Country Place and Mapleview Country Villa. The early-season fun continues on Saturday, May 21 as the first 1,000 fans will get Captains Athletic Socks, also presented by Lake Health.

Heroes Weekend is June 10 and 11 featuring two separate giveaways. On Friday, June 10, the first 1,000 fans will receive a Captains Dri-fit T-Shirt, courtesy of Lake Health. On Saturday, June 11, The Lake County Solid Waste District will sponsor a Military Card Set of local veterans who have served in the Armed Forces. The first 1,500 fans will receive the card set.

On Saturday, July 2, the Captains will salute the Nickelodeon game show "Legends of the Hidden Temple." The Legends of the Hidden Temple Jersey will be worn by Captains players during game and auctioned off during the game.

July 15 and 16 will be a two-night Jersey Auction featuring a patriotic and Presidential election-themed jersey to commemorate the 2016 Republican National Convention, and its impact on Northeast Ohio, which will be held in Cleveland the following week. Also, during this patriotic and election-themed weekend, the Captains will give away a President James A. Garfield Bobblehead to the first 1,500 fans through the gates on Sunday, July 17.

Friday, July 28 will feature the seventh in the series of "A Captains Story Bobblehead." This year, Skipper is dressed as Ralphie after he breaks his glasses on Christmas morning. The bobble is presented by Lake Health and will be available to the first 1,500 fans in attendance.

Saturday, August 6 is the traditional and award-winning "Cleveland Sports History Night" at Classic Park. This year the players will be wearing vintage Cleveland Cavaliers-themed jerseys which will be auctioned off during the game. A plethora of Cleveland-area sports celebrities will be in attendance for the evening and the pre-game VIP meet-and-greet package will again be available for purchase.

The Captains will wear, and auction off, a Yellow and Black Jersey with a Zig-Zag design as part of "Good Grief" night at Classic Park on August 26.

The proceeds from all four jersey auctions will benefit Captains Charities and other local non-profit organizations.

Stanley Steemer will present the Captains Youth Jersey giveaway this season on Saturday, August 27. The jersey is for fans age 12 and under and will be passed out to the first 1,000 kids who enter Classic Park that night.

Lastly, the Captains' annual SuperMegaPrizeAthon will take place on Saturday, September 3. The Captains work with their sponsors and partners in the area to give away thousands of different prizes, coupons and giveaways throughout the night including some flying off the roof and into the stands!

Individual game tickets go on sale on Saturday, March 19 at 9 AM only at the Classic Park Box Office. Online sales at CaptainsBaseball.com and phone sales at 440-954-WINS (9467), will begin Monday, March 21 at 9AM. Full season tickets plans, 12-, 20-, and 35-game mini ticket plans for the 2016 season are on sale now at great prices, complete with several exclusive benefits.
