Woodbridge, VA - The Potomac Nationals are excited to announce that LHP Jordan Mills and RHP Ronald Pena have been added to the 2018 Carolina League Northern Division Mid-Season All-Star Team. Mills and Pena join six other P-Nats, RHP Tyler Mapes, RHP Wil Crowe, RHP Sterling Sharp, C Tres Barrera, SS Carter Kieboom, and 3B Jake Noll, on the Northern Division roster.
With the addition of Mills and Pena, the Potomac Nationals now have eight total players set to represent the organization in the 2018 Carolina League All-Star Game, presented by U.S. Foods. The game is set to take place at Five County Stadium in Zebulon, NC on Tuesday, June 19th.
In his second season with Potomac, Mills has proven to be a formidable option out of the bullpen. In his 19 appearances, Mills has maintained a 2.63 earned run average with 32 strikeouts in 27.1 innings of work. A 28th round draft pick in 2013, this is the first All-Star Game in Mills' five-year MiLB career.
Ronald Pena has also excelled out of the bullpen for the Potomac Nationals, as he has earned a trip to the Carolina League All-Star Game for the second consecutive season. Pena has appeared in 17 games for The P-Nats so far in 2018. The righty has posted a 1.98 earned run average while with 38 strikeouts in 27.1 innings. The 2012 16th round draft pick is in his third season with the Potomac Nationals, as he pitched in 61 games with The Red, White, & Blue throughout his career. Pena was a 2017 Carolina League All-Star.
