
Hinsz Stifles Mets, Marauders Win 6-1

BRADENTON, Fla. - Bradenton starting pitcher Gage Hinsz shut down the St. Lucie offense as the Marauders defeated the Mets 6-1 on Tuesday at LECOM Park.
Hinsz only gave up three singles and one run over seven impressive innings. He did not walk a batter and struck out four while throwing just 81 pitches.
The Marauders scored all the runs they needed in a three-run third inning. Will Craig hit a ball to third base that Jhoan Urena misplayed and led to a run. Jerrick Suiter followed with a RBI infield single to make it 2-0. Mets starter Nabil Crismatt walked the next to batters for force in a run to put the Marauders up 3-0.
Crismatt recovered the strike out the next two batters to strand the bases loaded. Crismatt pitched five effective innings to keep the Mets in the game. He gave up five hits and two earned runs. He walked four and struck out six.
The Mets scored their lone run in the fourth. Anthony Dimino singled to start the inning, stole second base, went to third on a ground out and scored on Jhoan Urena's ground out to make it 3-1.
The Marauders added a run in the sixth off new Mets reliever Austin McGeorge. The Marauders broke the game open in the eighth with the final two runs. Doubles by Casey Hughston and Will Craig helped the Marauders cause.
Patrick Mazeika had half of the Mets hits. He went 2 for 3.
The Mets are 0-5 against Bradenton this year. They have lost 10 in a row to the Marauders going back to 2016. They are now 0-12 in Bradenton since the start of 2016.
The Mets (10-16) and Marauders (15-11) play the third game of their four-game series at LECOM Park on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
