Express Stay Undefeated at Colosseum

(WINDSOR, ON)- The Windsor Express (7-8) returned to the Colosseum at Caesars for the third year in a row, and came out with a big win against the London Lightning (12-3), 114-93.

Brandon Robinson started off the game with a three pointer to get the Express on the board. The Lightning had their largest lead of the game after a three pointer from Nick Okorie midway through the first, 15-10. The Express came back finished the first with a two point lead, 26-24.

Windsor extended their lead in the second quarter by as much as 14 points, 50-36 at the five minute mark. Kirk Williams Jr gave Windsor momentum with back to back buckets, keeping them ahead of London, 56-42. Windsor went into halftime with a 60-44 lead.

The Express came out of halftime strong, creating a 20 point lead over the Lightning, 68-48 by the 8:55 mark. It was the most physical and emotional quarter of the game, with Maurice Bolden getting disqualified with 44 seconds left in the quarter. There was no looking back for the Express, who went into the last quarter with a 87-69 advantage.

Windsor went into the last quarter with a 16 point lead, 87-71. Brandon Robinson and Chris Commons added back to back three pointers to make it a 24 point lead for the Express, 95-71. Windsor ended London's winning streak with a final score of 114-93.

Brandon Robinson put up a game high 34 points. Chris Commons and Shaquille Keith also added 17 points in tonight's win.

Tony Bennett had a double double, 15 points and 17 assists, a game high.

Chad Posthumus led the Lightning in scoring with 25 points, and added 13 boards for a double double. Stephen Maxwell added 16 points of his own.

The Windsor Express will head on the road this Friday, February 5th to play the Orangeville A's, and then to London on Saturday February 6th for a rematch with the Lightning. Both games are scheduled for a 7:00pm start.

The Express will come back to the WFCU Centre on Thursday, February 11th to host the Orangeville A's for a 7:30pm game start.
