(Edmonton) - The Edmonton Eskimos today released defensive back Fabian Burke and middle linebacker Kelvin Powell.

Burke, the Eskimos second round pick (13th overall) in the 2001 Canadian College Draft was in his fourth year as an Eskimo. In that time, the Kitchener native appeared in 48 games registering 35 defensive tackles, 35 special teams tackles, 1 pass knockdown and 1 interception.

Powell, signed as a free agent in May of 2001, and appeared in 22 games as an Eskimo registering 76 defensive tackles, 17 special teams tackles, 5 sacks and 1 interception.
