Danger DL Charles Walker Called up to CFL, Lands Roster Spot with BC Lions

April 4, 2019 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Nebraska Danger News Release

GRAND ISLAND, NE - After five standout games for the Danger in 2019, Charles Walker is heading to the CFL. The former Oklahoma Sooner and Philadelphia Eagle made quick work of IFL offenses, tallying nine tackles, including a four-yard sack and 21/2 tackles for loss in the short span.

At one point in his career, ESPN NFL Draft experts Mel Kiper, Jr. and Field Yates both saw the 6'2, 310-pound Walker being a first round draft pick after his years at Oklahoma. However, a series of concussions while he was in college forced him to leave the Sooners midway through their 2016 season.

Since then, Walker has bounced around a bit in several leagues, including the IFL, to see if football was still for him. Now, after a successful stint with the Danger, the CFL is giving him his shot.

He will be joining the BC Lions, who made the CFL playoffs in 2018 - a year that also included a regular season win over Calgary, who eventually took home the CFL title in 2019.

Tickets for the 2019 Nebraska Danger Football Season are on sale through the Heartland Events Center Ticket Office, Ticketmaster.com, or through your local Pump and Pantry Locations. For more information, visit dangerfootball.com.
