D-Fenders Rally in Frisco

FRISCO, TX,- The Texas Legends (12-15) came up short with a buzzer-beating shot attempt to fall to the Los Angeles D-Fenders (23-6) 114-116 Wednesday night in Frisco.

Mavericks assignee AJ Hammons grabbed the first points of the game for the Legends to give the home team the lead they would carry through three quarters. Texas took their largest lead of the night (+22) early in the second before an 8-0 run would put the visitors back in the game. Troy Devries went 4-for-5 for 11 points to bring Los Angeles within nine at the break.

The D-Fenders' continued the rally attempts in the third but Texas had an answer for every shot as the two teams went an even 33-33 to maintain the Legends' nine-point edge going into the final minutes. Los Angeles began the fourth with an 11-0 run to take their first lead of the night with just under nine minutes to play. The lead changed five times, with the last edge going to the visitors with a second on the clock.

CJ Williams went 6-of-9 from outside to finish with 24 points, 8 rebounds while Kyle Collinsworth came up one point short of a triple-double with 9 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists.

David Nwaba had 27 points, 16 rebounds to lead the D-Fenders while Vander Blue tied the game-high 27 points and dished out 4 assists.
