News Release

Syracuse, NY - The Syracuse Crunch were edged 2-1 by the Binghamton Senators tonight at the War Memorial Arena.

Tonight's loss snapped a three game winning streak and dropped the Crunch to an overall record of 10-3-1-1 and home record of 3-3-1-0. The Crunch will play their next five games on the road.

The Senators jumped out to an early lead when a point shot from Tyler Eckford found its way through traffic and past Crunch goaltender Dustin Tokarski just 1:13 into the opening frame. Assists went to Derek Grant and Fredrik Claesson. Eckford doubled Binghamton's lead with his second goal of the night, unassisted at the 1:11 mark of the third period.

The Crunch cut the Senators lead to one with a power-play goal from Richard Panik at the 6:12 mark of the third period. Panik one-timed a Tyler Johnson pass past Senators netminder Robin Lehner for the score, the secondary assist went to Mark Barberio.

The Crunch will face the Albany Devils tomorrow at 5 p.m. in the first game of their, season-long, five-game road trip.
