BOISE, Idaho ¾ The Boise Burn announced today that OL/DL David Stanton has been assigned to the team by the af2 league office. Stanton, 24, will report to Boise today and is expected to play with the team on Saturday in Louisiana against Bossier-Shreveport.

The former Michigan State Spartan played three games in the af2 during the 2008 season with the Spokane Shock where he had three tackles and one sack. At 6-foot-4 and 300-pounds, Stanton played two years on the defensive line with the Spartans. In his final year in 2006, he earned a starting assignment at defensive tackle and responded with a team-best 7.0 tackles for loss that season.

A transfer from the College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, Calif., Stanton recorded 13 tackles, two for loss, in 10 games as a junior.

In other news today, the Burn released DL Chris White. White did not play in the Burn's season opener against Tri-Cities on Mar. 27. The Burn beat the Fever 48-15 in their first game under new head coach Brent Winter.

The Burn's home opener is on Apr. 18 at Qwest Arena versus the Spokane Shock. Season tickets are available by calling (208) 383-0080. For more information and to get a full schedule, visit www.boiseburn.com.
