Week 2 Blowouts:

The Corpus Christi Sharks weren't the only team in af2 to get blown out in Week 2 as Quad City and the Albany Firebirds were both beaten by 40 points or more. Albany fell victim to the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Pioneers who blasted the Firebirds 70-28 while Quad City was beaten up by the defending ArenaCup champions Tennessee Valley Vipers 74-20. Albany is now 0-2 while Quad City's record stands at 1-1.

Barnstormers involved in barnburner with the Talons:

The Iowa Barnstormers were able to hold off the surging Tulsa Talons in the 4th quarter to hold onto a 73-68 victory in front of 11,000 plus fans in Des Moines, Iowa this past Saturday. Iowa led Tulsa 73-56 with more than 5 minutes remaining in the game, but the Barnstormers missed 2 consecutive field goals and allowed the Talons to score two touchdowns within 2 minutes of each other. The Talons could not convert on either 2-point conversion attempt on those 4th quarter touchdowns and eventually ran out of time. The Barnstormers raise their record to 2-0 and will travel to Peoria this week to take on the Pirates while the Talons fall to 1-1 and will host the Mahoning Valley Thunder.
