LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League fell to the Texas Brahmas 4-2 Tuesday night at Laredo Energy Arena. The Bucks winless streak is extended to a season-high five games (0-4-1) as they fall to 16-25-7 (39 points).
The Bucks scored first for the first time in three games when they struck at the 9:18 mark of the first period. Neil Trimm took a drop pass from Daniel Koger in the slot and slipped a shot from the top of the hash marks to pick up his 17th goal of the season.
The Brahmas(24-15-5) would tie the game at 1-1 when Darryl McArthur scored a power-play goal from the point to net his second marker of the campaign. McArthur's goal was in question because his number was incorrectly listed on the lineup card.
Laredo outshot Texas 10-8 in the first period.
Texas would take a 2-1 lead 9:29 into the second when Calin Wild picked up a bouncing puck in the slot and tipped it in right in front of the crease. The goal was Wild's ninth of the season.
The Bucks would tie the game at 2-2 less than four minutes later when Reid Edmondson picked up a loose puck at center ice and skated between two defenders before scoring on a backhander from the right side of the crease. The goal was Edmondson's seventh of the season.
The Brahmas would go up 3-2 with 4:16 left in the second when Jason Deitsch scored on a rebound from an odd angle to pick up his 14th of the season.
Texas outshot Laredo 18-6 in the second period.
Chad Woollard scored an empty-netter with just 1:06 left in the game to make it 4-2 Brahmas.
Texas outshot Laredo 9-6 in the third period, as well as 35-22 in the game.
Wayne Savage stopped 20 of 22 shots in the game to pick up the win for Texas, while Torrie Jung set aside 31 of 34 shots for the Bucks.
The Bucks will play a big two-game series at Rio Grande Valley on Friday and Saturday at State Farm Arena.
