
Blue Named NBA D-League Performer of the Week

EL SEGUNDO - Los Angeles guard Vander Blue has been named the NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played Monday, Jan. 23, through Sunday, Jan. 29. It is the second weekly honor of the season for Blue and the third of his career.
Blue (6-5, 200) averaged 32.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 2.0 steals in two Los Angeles wins last week, propelling the D-Fenders (22-6) to the league's best record. On Thursday, the former Marquette standout scored 37 points over the defending champion Sioux Falls Skyforce to lift LA to its seventh consecutive home win. He followed that performance with 28 points in a victory at Austin on Sunday. Overall for the week, Los Angeles outscored its opponents by an average of 20.5 points with Blue on the court.
The third-year D-Fender moved to seventh on the league's all-time scoring list with his first made basket on Sunday. He is currently third in the league with a scoring average of 25.5 points per game, also averaging 4.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists through 28 contests this season. Blue has scored at least 20 points in all but two of the team's games this year.
Blue and the D-Fenders will be back in action this week when the team takes on the Texas Legends at 5 p.m. PT on Wednesday, Feb. 1, at the Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco, Texas.
