Vancouver Giants News Release
Kamloops, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants fell 4-3 in overtime at the hands of the Kamloops Blazers on Saturday night at the Sandman Centre. David Brumm, Alec Baer and Ty Ronning scored for the G-Men.
Brumm gave Vancouver a first period lead when he scored off the rush, taking a pretty pass from Owen Hardy at the right circle and rifling it past Kamloops goalie Connor Ingram. Baer extended the Giants' lead later in the frame on a man advantage, wiring a hard shot past Ingram from the slot. Deven Sideroff pulled the Blazers back to within one goal before the end of the frame.
Collin Shirley equalized for Kamloops off an odd-man rush in the second period, and Jake Kryski gave the home team its first lead of the game in the early stages of the third, finding the back of the net on a power play. Ronning tied the game at 3-3 on a Vancouver man advantage a few minutes later, hammering a one-timer past Ingram after a centring feed from behind the net off the stick of Chase Lang.
Gage Quinney scored the game winner from in front of the goal at 2:34 of overtime after a nice setup by Kryski.
Ryan Kubic stopped 32 of 36 shots in the losing cause for Vancouver.
