
Storms' Whack Named NBL Canada Rookie of the Year

(Charlottetown, PE) The NBL Canada announced their league major award winners Monday and Rashad Whack of the Island STORM was named the league's' Rookie of the Year for the 2014-15 season.
Whack had a fine rookie season in the NBL Canada scoring 11.7 points per game in the regular season along with over 3 assists per game while shooting 40% from the floor and 39% from behind the 3 point line. Whack also shot 75% from the free throw line.
Meanwhile, the Hyattsville, Maryland native out of Mount St. Mary's University stepped up every statistic but one in the playoffs. Whack improved to 15 points per game in the post-season, shooting 45% from the floor and 84% from the foul line while handing out over 5 assists per game.?

Tyrone Watson - Halifax Rainmen - Canadian of the Year
Josep "Pep" Claros - Halifax Rainmen - Coach of the Year
Tyshwan Edmondson - Brampton A's - Newcomer of the Year
Omar Strong - Mississauga Power - 6th Man of the Year
Kevin Young - Halifax Rainmen - Defensive Player of the Year
Quinnel Brown - Windsor Express - Most Valuable player
Vito Frijia - London Lightning - Executive of the Year.
The best of seven NBL Canada League Finals begin this Wednesday in Windsor when the league's defending champion and Central Division Champion Express host the Atlantic Division Champion Halifax Rainmen with a the opening tip scheduled for 8pm AST.
