 Omaha Beef

An Invitation from Cory Ross

Omaha Beef News Release

Hello Football Fans,

With Super Bowl Sunday now behind us, and the indoor season set to begin, I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself and extend a personal invitation to you to become reacquainted with the Omaha Beef Indoor Football Team. The Omaha Beef enjoys the impressive distinction of being the longest operating franchise in indoor, arena football. As head coach, I am truly honored to become part of the Beef's 16-year tradition.

As a player on both the collegiate and professional level, my love of the game of football is one that has not waned, even now that my playing days are over. After my career with the Baltimore Ravens was concluded because of an injury, I went on to play in the UFL.

During this time with the UFL, I saw the league flourish. When the Nighthawks were brought to Omaha, I eagerly anticipated the opportunity to be traded so that I could return to my roots and play in front of the fans that I loved from my days as a Husker.

Sadly, we all know that team went into a downward spiral. The league folded and sponsors and ticket holders were left empty-handed. Because of this, many avid football fans in the area remain hesitant to give semi-professional football a try.

The Omaha Beef, despite its long- standing reputation in the area, has not been immune to the fallout. Nevertheless, through different changes in ownership, and going through its share of ups and downs, the Beef has survived. Many dedicated fans have been loyal to the organization and team since its inaugural season: a 16-year commitment!

My staff and I in no way purport to be the saving grace of the Omaha Beef. I can tell you that as coaches, we stand behind our commitment to making this season the best we can, not just on the field but off as well. We want the Omaha Beef to be a team Omaha can be proud of. We pledge to be actively involved in the community as much as possible.

Back in 2002 as a Husker, some teammates and I drove up to Omaha to watch our first Beef game. To think that 13 years later, I would have the honor of coaching this same team is truly a testament to the dedicated fans and supporters.

Please accept my personal invitation to join us this season for one of our home games. The pre-season opener is on February 13, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the Ralston Arena, 72nd & Q. The season extends through May 22, 2015 with 6 more home games. Check-out www.beeffootball.com or follow us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/TheOmahaBeef for further information. Order tickets by calling (402) 346-2333 (BEEF) or through the Ralston Arena Box Office or emailing cari@beefootball.com. Thank you for your time.

Kindest regards,

Cory Ross
