Calgary Stampeders News Release

The West Division-leading Stampeders seek a sixth consecutive victory as they face the Toronto Argonauts on Saturday at McMahon Stadium. Kickoff for the Week 11 contest is at 5 p.m.

It's also Legacy Night as six individuals who have made significant contributions to the team - players Stu Laird, Jamie Crysdale, Ron Allbright and James Sykes along with builders Pat Clayton and George Hopkins - will be added to the Stampeders' Wall of Fame and will be honoured in a halftime ceremony.

Calgary takes a 9-1 record into the contest and the Stampeders lead the CFL in both points scored and fewest points allowed. Toronto owns a share of top spot in the East Division despite a 3-7 mark. The Argos, who were on a bye last week, have dropped three straight.

The Stamps' current winning streak includes a pair of wins over the Edmonton Eskimos in the annual Labour Day home-and-home series. Calgary followed up a 28-13 home-field victory in the Labour Day Classic with a 41-34 decision in Saturday's Rematch at Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium.

Calgary running back and reigning CFL Most Outstanding Player Jon Cornish has topped the 100-yard mark in each of the two games against Edmonton and earned a total of three CFL weekly awards for his play in the two most recent contests.

Saturday's game features two of the league's top quarterbacks in Bo Levi Mitchell of the Stamps and Ricky Ray of the Argonauts. Ray leads the CFL with 16 touchdown passes while Mitchell is second with 15. Mitchell is at the top of the charts with a 100.5 QB rating and a 15-to-4 touchdown-to-interception ratio.

This is the second meeting of the season between the clubs as the Stamps were 34-15 winners at Toronto's Rogers Centre on July 12.

Fan Zone presented by Dodge

The Dodge Fan Zone will be open at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The Fan Zone is located across from the Ticket Office and Stamps Store on the east side of McMahon. The Dodge Fan Zone features YYC food trucks, partner games and giveaways and plenty of seating.

The Prostate Cancer Man Van, presented by PROSTAID Calgary, will be on-site to help increase awareness about the importance of early detection. September is prostate cancer awareness month.
