After falling behind 1""0, the Bravehearts loaded the bases in the sixth inning, and center fielder Brendan O'Reilly knocked in right fielder Ian Strom with a single. Torrington catcher Timothy Budd then allowed a passed ball, which brought home shortstop Andy Lack and second baseman Darian Ramage for the go-ahead runs.
Worcester's pitching staff allowed eight hits but combined for eight consecutive scoreless innings for the victory. Aaron Civale picked up the win in three innings pitched, relieving Bravehearts starter Kyle Slinger who pitched the first four innings and allowed six hits and one run.
Charlie Butler hit Torrington second baseman Kyle Decker to lead off the bottom of the ninth inning, but Butler retired the next three Titans to pick up his first save of the season for the Bravehearts.
Worcester will celebrate its Opening Day with its first home contest of the season against the Pittsfield Suns at 7:05 pm June 5 at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field.
