Chicago Mustangs News Release

Villa Park, IL - It is no doubt every Mustangs player and staff member is happy October is over. It has been a very busy month as the team has prepared for their second season in the Professional Arena Soccer League. Tomorrow their season officially kicks off as they face league newcomers the Tulsa Revolution at the Odeum in Villa Park; kick off is slotted for 4:05 PM. It is a day that will be highlighted by many events, including a ribbon cutting ceremony taking place at 3:40 PM by the local Chamber of Commerce, as well as guest of honor Jesus "Chucho" Ramirez. The day is sure to not disappoint as the Mustangs have been focusing all of their attentions on and off the field on this.

In preparation for the big day, Team President Armando Gamboa has been doing double duty. Not only has he been working hard to help coordinate the Mustangs front office staff, but he has also been serving as head coach for the team. Entering the team's sophomore season, Gamboa is excited to coach the players that he has had a big part in developing into a team. "For those that know me, they know all I do is eat, breathe and sleep soccer," said Gamboa about the time it takes to devote himself to both tasks. He continued on by saying "as Team President and Head Coach of this team, I am not afraid to say that the product on and off the field are my complete responsibility."

Gamboa also has a new secret weapon in his newly appointed assistant coach, Freddy Ochoa. As far as coaching goes, Ochoa is no stranger. In 2012, he led the Guererros of Guadalajara (Liga Mexicana de Futbol Rapido Profesional) to a championship as head coach. And as a player, won three championships in the LMFRPro with the team Meave in 1998, 1999 and 2005.

Also, the team announced the last round of signings today to finalize the team's roster going into their first game of the season. Included in this round of signings was last year's standout player, and Brazilian national, Guilherme Veiga whose amazing defensive efforts helped in several close contests last season.

The other players suiting up are midfielder Aurinei "Chico" Parisotto, midfielder Jose Mendoza, defender Alex Paredes, defender Joshio Sandoval, defender Carlos Reyes, and defender David Aranda.

And finally, as the Tulsa Revolution make their way to divisional rival Illinois Piasa, the Mustangs wait patiently for their match on Saturday. One thing is positive; every player on this team will be watching the broadcast tonight. Tulsa comes in with league veterans Josh Danza and Levi Coleman, as well as goal scorer Franck Tayou. When asked about the challenge of facing an expansion team for your first game of the season, newly appointed Assistant Coach Ochoa said "we take it like every other game, we set a plan and execute it." With the caliber of players that are going to be involved in this match, no doubt it is going to be a great game to watch. Tickets are limited, but still available by visiting the Mustangs site at chicagomustangspro.com.
